Winter

  • American crow
  • Common starling
  • Common Redpoll
  • Pine siskin
  • Purple finch
  • Chickadee
  • White-breasted Nuthatch
  • Blue Jay
  • Cardinal

March 17

  • Killdeer – flying by my apt window, screaming :)
  • Robin
  • Red-winged Blackbird – heard 2 of them at the [frozen] north end of Europe Lake
  • Lesser Scaup – Northport
  • Common Mergansers – Northport

March 26

  • Sandhill Cranes – flock of 8 flying high overhead Sturgeon Bay
  • Eastern Meadowlark – Hwy 42 & Sunnyslope Rd., and Cty Q just east of Townline Rd
  • Common Goldeneye – hundreds scattered along the shoreline at Peninsula State Park
  • Ring-necked Duck – one single pair just quietly floating between Horseshoe Island and Peninsula State Park
  • Common Mergansers – between Horseshoe Island and Peninsula State Park
  • Red-Breasted Mergansers – in the water at Welcker’s Point, Peninsula State Park
  • Bald Eagle – flying between Horseshoe Island and Peninsula State Park, turned toward Welcker’s Point
